Test Your Skills at Archery Small Game Hunting

Archery Small Game Hunting Can Hone Your Skills

When you think of a small game hunter, you imagine someone wielding a shotgun with deadly efficiency. While this may be true in most cases, there are people who enjoy archery small game hunting. These people are willing to sacrifice their chances of success, for the sheer fun of the hunt. While a shotgun will surely give you an excellent chance of bringing home lots of kills, the archer is looking for an extra challenge. And believe me, small game hunting is very challenging with a bow and arrow.Unlike big game hunting, where you have a large target to aim at, the small game hunter doesn’t. Small game also tends to move faster, thus making a harder target. Small game also tends to lurk close to, or in small brush, making it more difficult to aim and see the target properly. bunny hunting.

One good thing about archery small game hunting with a bow and arrow is that you’re bound to become a better shot. If you can hit a rabbit from twenty yards, you sure as heck will be able to hit a full sized deer or elk.

Many archery small game archers swear by traditional equipment. Sure, you can use a compound bow, but you have to aim using a compound with a sight and a long bow, recurve or short bow is shot using mostly instinct.

A shorter bow can also give you better maneuvrability in brush than a bigger compound bow will. This could mean the difference between a kill and a missed shot.

The arrow can also mean the difference between a successful shot and a failed one. Some small game archers use wooden arrows, but carbon and aluminum shafts are also popular. With an aluminum shaft, you can also buy replaceable heads. Some small game hunters enjoy using the judo point arrow. A judo point has spring arms that snag in brush and flip up, making it easy to find.

But all small game arrows have smaller heads than you would use for big game hunting. You don’t want to use something with a huge arrow head, because it will ruin most of the meat. More about
